All Aboard...the Carnival Magic

A month ago, Jason and I and 10 family members were preparing to head to Barcelona, Spain for a 14 day vacation including a 12 day cruise. Jason and I both had to work on Friday, October 14, before we flew out at 5:35pm. I had a sales meeting that morning where I found out that I was a Pacesetter for 1st Quarter. This means that my territory is growing by more than 20% and I am on track for President's Club and hopefully a trip to Miami, Florida next year. I still have 7 months to go, so a lot can happen, but I'm working my butt off to get there.

Back to our trip...my parents took us to the airport, where we flew out with his mom, Grandma, Aunt Cheryl, Uncle Derek and Uncle Mark and Aunt Dawn. We flew from OKC to Detroit, Detroit to Paris and Paris to Barcelona. We finally arrived in Spain at 2:35pm on Saturday, October 15 which is also Jason's birthday. We checked in to our hotel, showered, re-grouped and headed out on the town.

I loved Barcelona. It's a very modern city, clean with lots of Starbucks and good food! Jason, Cheryl and I decided to get paella and sangria for dinner while everyone else chose pizza.

The next day we got up, checked our bags with Carnival and took the shuttle into town so we could pick up the double decker bus.

It was a beautiful day in the low 70s so we all loved sitting up on the deck. Most stores are closed on Sunday's in Europe so we weren't able to shop, so it it was nice to ride around the see the city. We didn't make it to Parc Guell or the Magic Fountain but we did make it to see La Sagrada Familia designed by Gaudi.

We also got see this while standing in front of the church. Pretty cool.

We had to be on the boat by 4pm for a 5pm departure. We didn't get back to the port until 3:40pm and we all were getting nervous. We didn't see the Carnival so I looked at my papers, ran over to a taxi driver and asked where our dock was.  He told me that is was on the other side which was about a 5 minute drive or a 30 minute walk. We all hopped in 3 different taxis and quickly made our way to our boat. The nice thing about being late was that we didn't have to wait in line. We walked straight up to the desk and on to the boat within a few minutes.

Jason doing a little relaxing while reading up on the on board activities for the evening.

We celebrated Jason's birthday on board our first night at dinner. Jason's grandma brought napkins and whistles and the staff sang to him. They also created this...

Happy Birthday, Babe! Love you!

We said Adios to Barcelona, Espana and Bonjour to Marseilles, France!!
